This aim of this study is to identify, measure, and store specific biomarkers (found in proteins, and fluids such as blood, urine, and cerebrospinal fluid.) to better understand the physiological changes that occur over time in Alzheimer's Disease. Like ADNI, this study also involves advanced imaging technology. Age and other participation criteria may be somewhat broader than for ADNI.

Diagnostic studies aim to identify and better understand changes occurring over time in the brain that cause problems with memory and thinking. The tell-tale chemical and physical indicators of these changes are known as “biomarkers.”
The CERND (Center for Excellence in Research on Neurodegenerative Diseases) Study uses and compares different diagnostic technologies to detect these “biomarkers” of changes in the brain.

Healthy Brain Monitoring
The purpose of this study is to learn how to best, and most easily, monitor brain health outside of the clinic. Persons in this study will complete a series of cognitive tests over four years in their home, and be provided follow-up medical care if any changes brain health are suspected. These tests will be done on mail-in forms, the telephone, or a computer. We are we doing this study because we know very little about how best to monitor the cognitive health of individuals from the comfort of their own home.
Enrollment is now closed.
