Signal Transduction
Introduction | Laboratories

Introduction
Signal Transduction is pursuing a better understanding of the molecular biology and biochemistry involved in the communication among the various types of cells that make up the immune system. This communication leads the various cell types to become active to fight an invasion, or to die off.

Laboratories
Signal Transduction consists of five laboratories:

The Choi Laboratory
The Hua Laboratory
The Koretzky Laboratory
The Pear Laboratory
The Reiner Laboratory

Signal Transduction is a core unit of the The Leonard and Madlyn Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania. Created in December 1997 with a $100 million pledge from the Abramson Family Foundation, the Cancer Research Institute integrates research, education, and comprehensive patient care at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania.
