The Administrative Core provides the management and scientific direction of the Center and establishes the necessary linkages among participants within the Center and with relevant Schools, Departments, and Centers on campus. This Core:
- facilitates communication and fosters collaborations between Center members
- ensures sound fiscal management and accountability of Center activities and Developmental funds
- ensures that shared Core facilities are utilized in a cost efficient manner that serves the research needs of participating members
- establishes educational programs including a monthly seminar series, an annual research retreat and special symposia
- develops community outreach programs
- ensures the development of emerging scientific areas and technologies relevant to AIDS research
