Most inpatient units in the Penn health system have Unit-based clinical leaders (UBCLs) that include a physician, nurse, and quality coordinator. These UBCLs are responsible for prespecified quality metrics on their unit. The below advisories were developed by CEP to help the UBCLs address some of the most common challenges faced by inpatient units. Advisories are short, quick-turnaround responses to focused questions not requiring a detailed search for primary studies.
