Pain Medicine FellowshipThe Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine offers a 1-year fellowship in pain medicine. This fellowship is ACGME accredited, and is available to individuals that have completed a ACGME-accredited residency in anesthesiology, physical medicine & rehabilitation, neurology, or psychiatry. The Pain Medicine fellowship provides comprehensive education and training in the areas of pain medicine and palliative care in adults. Training includes acute pain, interdisciplinary chronic pain, cancer pain, palliative care, and interventional pain methods. Fellows obtain significant experience in the use of a wide variety of interventional pain modalities, and upon completion of the fellowship can qualify for recognition as qualified in performing a number of interventional procedures. The pain medicine faculty come from a number of specialties, and many are nationally recognized pain experts. Several are active in the conduct of pain-related research, and as a result there is ample opportunity for pain medicine fellows to actively participate in scholarly activities during their fellowship.
