Twentieth Annual James E Eckenhoff, MD Lectureship


Sean Mackey, MD, PhD, Redlich Professor of Anesthesiology and Chief of the Division of Pain Medicine, Stanford University School of Medicine, presented the 20th Annual James E Eckenhoff, MD Lecture on November 3, 2016 at Grand Rounds.  Dr Mackey’s lecture was entitled, Learning Health Systems: A New Dawn in Personalized Care and Real-World Discovery Research.

Eleventh Annual Stephen J. Prevoznik Lecture on Leadership


We were fortunate to have Patricia Kapur, MD, Clinical Professor, Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care  at the Perelman School of Medicine, present the Eleventh Annual Stephen J. Prevoznik Lecture on Leadership at our Grand Rounds on February 2, 2017. The title of her talk was, "Leading into the Future." Pat is an outstanding leader in our specialty, including the former Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology of the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA, Executive Vice President of UCLA Health, and CEO of the Faculty Practice Group (FPG), as well as, President of the American Board of Anesthesiology, President of the Foundation of Anesthesia Education and Research, and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the International Anesthesia Research Society.

Eighth Annual Brett Gutsche Lecture on Obstetrical Anesthesia

Eleni Tsigas, Executive Director of the Preeclampsia Foundation, presented the 8th Annual Brett Gutsche Lecture, "Preeclampsia:What Patients Want You to Know," at Grand Rounds on December 12, 2014. She gave a very dynamic, heartfelt, and personal talk, increasing awareness and improving healthcare practices regarding preeclampsia.

Second Harry Wollman, MD Lecture


Claire Pomeroy, MD, MBA, President, Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation, presented the 2nd Harry Wollman, MD Lecture at Grand Rounds on November 12, 2015.  Dr Pomeroy’s talk was entitled, “Biomedical Research: Triumphs, Challenges, and the Future.” Later that day, Claire also gave the weekly departmental Research in Progress Seminar, entitled, “Thriving in Research: 2015.”
