Vaporizer Calibration

Following Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) recommendations and IACUC procedures, anesthetic vaporizers used in animal research must be calibrated every two years.

The University of Pennsylvania Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care offers vaporizer calibration service for anesthetic vaporizers used in animal research at the University of Pennsylvania only. The fee for this service is $50 per vaporizer, payable only by funds transfer.

Vaporizer calibration will be performed the 3rd Friday of each month.

• Bring vaporizer to 305 John Morgan Building before 3 pm on 3rd Thursday of the month.
• Label vaporizer with PI's name (masking tape is OK)
• Bring the completed funds transfer form.
• Bring vaporizer partially (< 1/2) filled with liquid anesthetic agent.
• Keep vaporizer upright during transport.
