Hypoxia
Major Category: CO2 and adaptation to acute hypoxia (PS VIII)
Subcategory 8: Physiologic responsive to hyperoxia and hyperoxia with 4%
CO2 at 1 ATA, at rest and in exercise.
Date: March - April 1995.
Expt. Title Acronym: PERCH = Physiological (responses to) Exercise (and) Rest (while breathing) CO2 (and) Hypoxic (gas mixture).
Expt. Title: PERCH 2. Physiological responses to inspired gas mixtures of 100% O2, 96% O2 with 4% CO2, and 21% O2 with 4% CO2, at-rest followed by 50 and 100 watts bicycle ergometer exercise. (Expt. 14.22)
Description:
A companion study to PERCH 1, identical in all respects except for the inspired gases. There were 6 Subjects, all of whom participated in PERCH 1. See PERCH 1 for full description. 1 ATA control, no hypoxia.
