Penn Presbyterian's Emergency Medical staff specializes in the immediate recognition, evaluation and treatment of unexpected illnesses or injuries. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Emergency Department is equipped and ready to provide patients with excellent emergency care for all medical and surgical problems.
Penn Presbyterian’s Emergency Department has undergone a complete renovation to better serve its patients and the community. Some of the modifications include:
- Enlarged patient waiting and registration areas
- All private single-patient exam rooms
- New staff and public entrances on Powelton Avenue
- Two new resuscitation rooms and a medical imaging suite
- Expanded, fully computerized nursing station
- New computerized charting system and wireless bedside registration capability
