Program Directors

Lance Becker, MD is Professor of Emergency Medicine (Medicine and Veterinary Medicine) and Founding Director of the Penn Center for Resuscitation Science, an interdisciplinary center focused on research and training to save lives from sudden death. Dr. Becker’s primary research interest is the study of resuscitation pathophysiology in a translational bench-to-community context.
Brian L. Strom, MD, MPH is George S. Pepper Professor of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Founding Chair and Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Professor of Medicine, Professor of Pharmacology, Founding Director of the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Founding Director of the Graduate Group in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Vice Dean for Institutional Affairs, all at the Penn Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Strom's primary research interest is pharmacoepidemiology. He is widely published in multiple areas of clinical epidemiology, including cardiovascular disease.
