Program Steering Committee

Jill Baren, MD, MBE is Chair and Professor Chair of Emergency Medicine (primary) and Professor of Pediatrics, Division of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Baren provides combined expertise in clinical trials in the emergency department setting and in the ethics of human research.
Kathy Shaw, MD, MSCE is Professor of Pediatrics (primary) and Epidemiology, the Nicholas Crognale Endowed Chair of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Chief of the Division of Emergency Medicine, Associate Chair for Quality and Patient Safety, and Associate Scholar in the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Dr. Shaw is a national leader in pediatric emergency medicine and quality and patient safety. Her research interests include the diagnosis and management of acute pediatric illness and injuries, most notably urinary tract infections and bronchiolitis, and in emergency medicine safety and quality improvement initiatives.
