Under Dr. Baxt's leadership, the Penn program has developed a premiere
4 year emergency medicine residency program, built a new 28,000 sq
foot emergency department facility, created a fully electronic emergency
medical record and recruited numerous outstanding faculty.
The department
has grown into the most academically productive emergency medicine
program in the country with over $4 million in NIH funding, placing
it in first place of all U.S. emergency medicine programs.
