Penn Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program

The Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars program in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania provides training in health policy and community-relevant research to outstanding physicians who are committed to improving health and health care in the United States. Penn Clinical Scholars become highly capable health services researchers and leaders in the transformation of health care, both by developing research that is highly relevant to the broader community and by translating research findings into action.

For more than three decades, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars program has fostered the development of physicians who are leading the transformation of health care in this country through positions in academic medicine, public health, and other leadership roles. Through the program, future leaders learn to conduct innovative research and work with communities, organizations, practitioners and policy makers on issues important to the health and well-being of all Americans.
