The Penn Rodebaugh Diabetes Center, of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, is a resource for consultation, second opinion, diagnosis and ongoing treatment for patients with diabetes. Patient education with certified diabetes nurse educators and nurse practitioners is available. Consultation and instruction from diabetes nutritionist specialists is also provided.

Complicated patients with special problems or multi-system disease are handled by a team of specialists with experience in assessing these problems, and who facilitate appropriate referral to other specialists as necessary.

The muti-disciplinary structure of the Diabetes Center makes it ideally suited to evaluation of the most complex problems and diagnostic dilemmas, as well as more routine cases.

Ongoing research protocols in new therapies of diabetes and its complications are also available and offered to interested patients.
