Biography

Dr. Cardillo has recently joined the faculty in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, & Metabolism as an Assistant Professor of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University where she received a B.A. in Behavioral Biology. She received her M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and completed both a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Endocrinology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her research has focused on the impact of dietary intervention on adipocyte-derived hormones in obesity and on the impact of specialized multidisciplinary care in type 2 diabetes. Her clinical interests include diabetes management, transplant associated diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome. Her clinical practice is based at the Penn Rodebaugh Diabetes Center.
