Biography
Dr.
Braunstein was the Chief of the Diabetes
Program at the Hospital of the University of
Pennsylvania from 1975 - 2002.
He has
a large Clinical Diabetes practice and his interests
include treatment of complications related to
diabetes,
treatment of diabetes in pregnancy and young adults
and intensive treatment programs. His current
research is focused on new treatment strategies
for complications
of diabetes and industry-sponsored programs in
the
use of IGF-I, Amylin, and Aminoguanidine in the treatment
of diabetes and diabetes complications.
Dr. Braunstein is establishing a new Diabetes Institute
at Penn Medicine at Radnor, starting August 16th,
