Biography
Michael Rickels, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Rickels received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and remained at Penn to complete his residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Endocrinology. Dr. Rickels is an attending physician in Penn's Rodebaugh Diabetes Center where he evaluates and treats patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. His research focus is in the metabolic consequences of islet transplantation for the treatment of type 1 diabetes.
