Kent Bream, M.D.
Assistant Professor
United Community Clinics. This is a student run screening clinic that provides multi-disciplinary services (medical, social work, and nursing) to members of the East Parkside Community. They also provide sports physicals for surrounding schools as well as local block parties and health fair staffing.
Dr. Bream has been hibernating a project called the Adolescent Labor Support Initiative. It provides doula training to Penn students and then matches them with a pregnant high school student as their doula.

Institute for Safe Families (ISF): ISF addresses the health and well-being of the family Â- as individuals, in their families, and in the communities that surround them. The mission of ISF is to prevent family violence and to offer an alternative vision for wholeness, healing, family health, and personal empowerment. Particular attention is paid to promoting changes in systems and policies that effect families living with interpersonal violence. I serve as a Clinical Consultant as well as an active member on the Clinical Network on Men and Violence, Pediatric RADAR Network, and the Family Violence Clinical Network.
Philadelphia Women's Death Review Team (PWDRT): A project of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, Women in Transition, and the Philadelphia Health Management Corporation whose central objectives are: 1) to track the incidence and prevalence of violence-related deaths of women; 2) to identify the degree to which intimate partner violence contributes to the community's mortality; 3) to identify patterns and trends in violence-related deaths of women; and 4) to formulate key policy and practice recommendations to improve the systems that serve and protect women and their children.
