The Firearm & Injury Center at Penn seeks to reduce the magnitude and impact of firearm injury and violence by stimulating firearm and injury research, supporting efforts to translate research findings into practice, and broadly disseminating information to communities and policymakers.

Our research program serves to:

  • Disentangle the factors contributing to firearm injury
  • Improve our ability to reduce the impact of firearm injury
  • Identify intervention points and intervention partners
  • Improve planning and communication
  • Evaluate outcomes and effectiveness
