BASIC LIFE SUPPORT INFORMATION

In order to participate in a clinical or research training program at UPHS, all house staff must be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).  All incoming PGY 1 housestaff must be Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified. Additionally, specific programs may require advanced certifications, such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). In these instances, we will accept advanced certifications in lieu of BLS. In an effort to adhere to this UPHS policy and ACGME guideline, please note the following instructions:
