B.E.N.@Penn

Penn's Biological Engineering Network (B.E.N.@PENN) is a new gateway to centralized information on interdisciplinary research, training, and education in the biomedical, biophysical and bioengineering sciences at Penn. The site leads the visitor to Penn's Institutes, Centers and Departments that emphasize investigation and training unconstrained by traditional disciplinary boundaries (see Director's letter).

Modern biomedical research is making great leaps through collaborative interactions of individuals in traditionally separate areas. Today's "interdisciplinary frontier" is recognized as the mainstream of the future with quantitative sciences fully integrated into biomedicine. Penn recognized these needs a decade ago and leads the nation by having established leading edge major interdisciplinary resources on a single urban campus.

Penn's programs champion the integration of leading-edge interdisciplinary research from molecule to organism. Explore the site, at http://www.upenn.edu/ben-penn/.
