Jenni Punt, Ph.D., visiting professor at the Pear Lab has returned to Haverford College as Assistant Professor of Biology • Jessica Cheney (McIntosh Lab) will be entering Penn Veterinary School in the fall • Florence Bareyre (McIntosh Lab) will be entering the Ph.D. program at the University of Zurich to work with Dr. Martin Schwab, a noted authority on CNS regeneration • Alex Sicca (Pear Lab) is starting graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center • Ajit Subramanian (Diamond Lab) received his Ph.D. and joined Cell Genesys Inc. • J.B. Morrison (McIntosh Lab) graduated in 1999 and is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Neurosciences at the University of Southampton, UK • James Lee (Discher Lab) was awarded Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering • Carol Kwok (Discher Lab) was awarded a MS in Chemical Engineering, and works at an electronics firm in Arizona • Shilpa Choudhari (Disher Lab) received a MS in Biotechnology and is now at Merck • Dana Emery (McIntosh Lab) will be receiving her Ph.D. in Pharmacology and entering medical school at the University of Chicago this fall • Steve Rodgers (Hammer Lab) graduated with a Ph.D., and will be working for Merck • David Ege (Hammer Lab) has taken a leave for one year to work for an internet start-up • Howard Wang (Composto Lab), is now a post-doctoral fellow, Polymers Division NIST • Patrick Pederson is starting Medical School at the University of Minnesota in the fall • Rick Goddeau (Janmey Lab) is starting Medical School at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine • David Schmidtke (Diamond Lab) will begin a tenure track Assistant Professorship in Chemical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma • Helmut Laurer, M.D. (McIntosh lab), after a six-month "road trip" through the US, will return to the residency program in Surgery at the University of Hamburg in Germany • Bi-min Zhang Newby (Composto Lab) is now Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Akron • Victor Rizzo (Davies Lab) is now Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at Albany Medical College • Welcome to Eric Johnston, who has joined the Hammer lab as a research technician specializing in micropipette aspiration and imaging, • Robert Bucki, M.D. Ph.D. and Makoto Funaki, M.D. Ph.D., new post-docs in the Janmey Lab, Pierre Hardy, M.D., Ph.D., postdoc in the Davies Lab. We welcome Peter Photos, Maureen Sheehan and Paul Dalhaimer, new graduate students in the Discher Lab, and Jason Nichol, graduate student in the Gooch Lab and Lola Eniola, graduate student in the Hammer Lab.
