Internal Medicine Residency

Message from the Program Director

Thank you for your interest in the Penn-CHOP Med-Peds Program. Our four-year program is designed to foster the development of academic Med-Peds physicians. The diversity of clinical experiences, from primary care to world-renowned sub-specialty care, mentoring, and research opportunities available to residents in our program make this a unique training program.

The philosophy of our training program is to provide a core curriculum designed to promote the mastery of basic clinical skills in internal medicine and pediatrics while working with each of our residents to develop an individual training experience to attain personal career goals. To that end, our residents are completely integrated into both categorical programs, while maintaining our own Med-Peds community with weekly Med-Peds conferences, frequent social events and specific Med-Peds mentoring.

Our residents have the opportunity for additional training in many areas including Medical Education, Health Policy Bioethics, Global Health and Quality Improvement . We also are proud of our ongoing work in Transitions of Care for medically vulnerable populations. The clinical exposure, faculty and cutting edge research at Penn and CHOP make for an exceptional educational experience.

We invite you to explore our website and we are happy to answer any questions you have. Applications are accepted to the University of Pennsylvania through ERAS.
