Dr. Ahya is the Medical Director of the Lung Transplantation Program. His clinical interests also include the management of lung disease associated with solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. He is the primary investigator of several clinical trials investigating the roles of different immunosuppressive agents for the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic lung rejection. In addition he has collaborative research projects with the other solid organ transplant programs and the Histocompatibility laboratory to better understand the mechanisms of primary graft failure and graft rejection.
