Accessing UPHS Outlook Web Mail for PCs running Microsoft Vista

Web Mail (Outlook Web Access) Tips

UPHS employees using a PC running the Microsoft Vista operating system are encouraged to follow these instructions for logging onto Outlook WebAccess, which provides access to your UPHS email using  Internet Explorer from your home or other remote location.   Vista users should sign in using Basic access or by downloading MIME for use with Premium access.

Use "Basic" Outlook Web Access
To access your UPHS web mail, go to https://mail.uphs.upenn.edu. On the log in page, under "Client" change the radio button selection to Basic from Premium.
Note that the Basic view provides a simpler view but it has the same functionality of Premium. See the design on the left.

Download MIME for use with "Premium" Outlook Web Access

To access your UPHS web mail, go to https://mail.uphs.upenn.edu. Log in using Premium Outlook Web Access. On the bottom-left side, click the Options icon.

On the Options page, scroll down until you see E-mail Security. Click the Download button.
A File Download - Security Warning dialog box will appear. Click Run.
Another Security Warning dialog box will appear for Microsoft Outlook Web Access S/MIME. Click Run.
You will see the Microsoft Outlook Web Access S/MIME dialog box, as demonstrated on the left. The download may take approximately one to two minutes.
