About Philadelphia

Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, was founded in 1682 by William Penn. In addition to its historical sites such as the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, the city offers a wide range of cultural activities, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, Pennsylvania Ballet, Opera Company of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and many outstanding theaters, art galleries, and other museums.

Recreational opportunities include the city's professional sports teams, the Philadelphia Zoo, the Adventure Aquarium located in Camden, and Fairmount Park, the largest landscaped park in the world.

Philadelphia is conveniently located between New York and Washington, and is a short drive from the East Coast shore resorts and Pocono Mountains.

Residents have chosen to live in a variety of locations, all within an easy commute to the Hospital. Some prefer the suburban communities along the Main Line and in Delaware County, while others have chosen the convenience of living close by in University City, Center City, or Society Hill.
