Mission Statement The mission of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University
of Pennsylvania Health System is to provide clinical care and
conduct research combined with educating the physicians and scientists
of the future in disorders that affect the nervous system. Our research, both basic and clinical, competes successfully for external funding and is interested in translation from the bench to the bedside. We combine our research and clinical care in training the academic neurosurgeons of the future and in providing an environment where medical students, graduate students, physicians and other health care providers are integrated and exposed to our field.
