With the help of David Miller of Materials Management, Roger Band, MD, of Penn's Department of Emergency Medicine, filled his car with over 100 pairs of crutches donated by Samuel Mickle School and Jeffrey Clark School in New Jersey and Siemens Healthcare, and much-needed medical supplies, including thousands of doses of pain medications and antibiotics provided by both HUP and CHOP. He drove the supplies to Newark International Airport where they were loaded on a plane bound for Haiti. This was Band’s second trip to Haiti since the earthquake, as part of a UN mission in conjunction with the Clinton Foundation.
