Gwenn-ael H. Danet, PhD Appointed
Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Pennsylvania
(Philadelphia,
PA) - Gwenn-ael H. Danet, PhD, has been appointed
to the position of Research Assistant Professor of Medicine
in the Department of Hematology-Oncology at the University
of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Prior to this
appointment, he was a research associate and instructor
at the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University
of Chicago.
Danet attended the University of Pierre
& Marie Curie in Paris where he earned his BS in biochemistry
and molecular biology, and his MS in endocrinology and
biochemistry. He received his PhD in endocrinology and
biochemistry from the University of Florida in Gainesville.
His current research focuses on the characterization
of normal adult hematopoietic stem cells and leukemic
stem cells using NOD/SCID mouse xenotransplantation
models.
Danet was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute
Fellow in 2000 - 2001 and is a member of the American
Society of Hematology and the International Society
of Experimental Hematology.
He has published several papers on research
topics related to hematology and holds a patent for
the development of the method and marker for the isolation
of human multi-potent hematopoietic stem cells.
