Teresa R. Franklin, PhD, Appointed
Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania
(Philadelphia,
PA) - Teresa R. Franklin, PhD, has been appointed
to the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine in
the Division of Neuroscience and Psychiatry at the Transdisciplinary
Tobacco Use Research Center of the University of
Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Franklin attended Lycoming College in
Williamsport, PA and earned her BA in Chemistry and
Biology. She earned her PhD in Neuroscience from MCP
Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to this
appointment, Franklin has been a Postdoctoral Fellow
and then a Research Associate at the Treatment Research
Center at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Franklin, a member of Phi Beta Kappa,
has received numerous awards including the Trask Chemistry
Award from Lycoming College and the Amedeo Bondi Award
for Outstanding Dissertation from MCP Hahnemann University.
She is a member of the Women in Neuroscience Society,
the Society for Neuroscience, and the Society for Research
on Nicotine and Tobacco.
Her research has been published in several
journals including Neuroscience Methods, Nicotine
and Tobacco Research and Science, Neuropsychopharmacology,
the European Journal of Neuroscience, and Biological
Psychiatry.
