Emer M. Smyth, PhD Appointed Assistant
Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania
(Philadelphia,
PA) - Emer M. Smyth, PhD, has been appointed
to the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine in
the Department of Pharmacology at the University
of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Smyth is a member of the Center for Experimental
Therapeutics where she conducts her research Smyth attended
the National University of Ireland and earned her BSc
and PhD with honors in Pharmacology.
Her current research focuses on the vascular
biology of eicosanoids and how individual prostanoid
receptors may act in concert to direct biological actions
of these lipid mediators.
Smyth is a fellow of the American Heart
Association.
Her research has been published in the
Journal of Biological Chemistry and Molecular
Pharmacology.
