Brendali F. Reis, PhD, Appointed
Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of
Pennsylvania School of Medicine
(Philadelphia,
PA) - Brendali F. Reis, PhD, has been appointed
an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University
of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, effective immediately.
She earned her BA in Psychology from Federal University
of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and a MS in Developmental
Psychology from Federal University of Rio Grande do
Sul, Brazil, with continued studies at the University
of California, Los Angeles. She completed her pre-doctoral
internship at The Cambridge Hospital at Harvard Medical
School in 1997 and received her PhD in Clinical Psychology
from California School of Professional Psychology that
same year.
Reis's interests span both psychology and psychiatry.
She has participated in numerous lectures and workshops
on developmental psychology and motivational enhancement
therapy/cognitive behavioral therapy. She is currently
the Co-Principal Investigator for the study, "The
Co-Occurring Disorders Study," for which she received
a 2000 award from the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment
(CSAT) and the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services
Administration (SAMHSA), an agency of the US Department
of Health & Human Services. In addition, she has
written articles for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry,
Psychotherapy, and Arquivos Brasileiros de Psicologia
and authored a chapter in Psicologia Social Para
Principiantes.
