"A critical part of OR nursing is giving information and teaching.  As an OR nurse you don’t perform the operation but you know everything that is needed for the operation.  You know what’s going to happen to the patient and each surgeon’s preferences.  So you are constantly teaching -- medical students; nursing students; residents and fellows."
