David Rubin, MD, Named Assistant
Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania
School of Medicine
(Philadelphia,
PA) - David Rubin, MD, has been named Assistant
Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania
School of Medicine.
Dr. Rubin earned his medical degree from the University
of California, San Francisco in 1996 and is a 2002 Master
of Science in Clinical Epidemiology candidate at the
University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency
and fellowships (clinical, research and a National Research
Service Award post-doctoral) at Children's Hospital
of Philadelphia. He is joining the Health Services Research
Group within the Department's Division of General Pediatrics.
Dr. Rubin's research interests are directed toward investigating
the relationship between foster care placement and health
care service utilization for children in foster care.
His long-term research goals involve improving the health
and overall well-being of children in the foster care
system.
He has authored or co-authored several research papers
and has been invited to present his research at various
national meetings. This year, he was awarded a University
Research Foundation Grant, from the University of Pennsylvania,
for his work on children and foster care.
