Six University of Pennsylvania Professors Elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences
PHILADELPHIA - Six University of Pennsylvania faculty members have been named Fellows of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. They are among 190 new Fellows and 22 Foreign Honorary Members recognized as leaders in science, arts and humanities, business, public affairs and the nonprofit sector.
The new AAAS Fellows at Penn are:
- Mitchell A. Lazar, professor of medicine and genetics in the School of Medicine.
- Marsha I. Lester, professor of chemistry in the School of Arts and Sciences.
- Tom C. Lubensky, professor of physics and astronomy in the School of Arts and Sciences.
- Diana Carole Mutz, professor of political science in the School of Arts and Sciences and professor of communication in Penn’s Annenberg School for Communication and director of the Institute for the Study of Citizens and Politics in Penn’s Annenberg Public Policy Center.
- Jean-Michel Rabaté, professor of English and comparative literature in the School of Arts and Sciences.
- Robert A. Rescorla, professor of psychology in the School of Arts and Sciences.
