RSS FEEDS

RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, permits you to have updates of web content delivered directly to your computer and other web-enabled devices. Using files, commonly referred to as feeds, RSS typically provides recent headlines, short summaries and links to news articles.

In most cases, in order to access RSS, you will need a special news reader or aggregator. The reader lets you gather the feeds that interest you into a single place and have it update automatically when new information is published. It is a fast and efficient way to access multiple news sources without having to visit many different web sites.

There are many RSS readers, both web and software-based, that are available for free. Some popular, free browser-based RSS aggregators include Bloglines, Google Reader, and My Yahoo. If you would like to use a software product please check with your computer support team about compatibility with your operating system.
