Jack & Blima Ludmir 2016 Good Samaritan Award Recipients

Jack & Blima Ludmir were named the 2016 Good Samaritan Award recpients.  Since its inception in 1985, the Good Samaritan Award has been given annually to individuals who have provided exemplary volunteer leadership and support with a spirit of generosity and caring at Pennsylvania Hospital.


OB/GYN's Living Legend

Congratulations to Dr. DaCarla M. Albright who was honored by the City Council of Philadelphia as a 2016 Philadelphia Living Legend for her outstanding contributions to community and society.  Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr., who presented the Council resolution, said the award "points out unsung heros that from time to time get overlooked but make huge differences in our society as a whole and in African American communities in particular."


Victoria L. Rich Patient Satisfaction Award Winner

The Baby Friendly Task Force has been awarded the 2016 Victoria L. Rich Patient Satisfaction Award.  This award recognizes nursing units, councils, or committees that plan, implement, and measure systems to improve the patient experience.

 


Dr. Helen O. Dickens Commemorative Lecture in Medicine

Dr. Angela Diaz, Professor Pediatrics and Preventative Medicine and Director of the Adolescent Health Center at Mount Sinai, will deliver the7th Annual Dr. Helen O. Dickens Commemorative Lecture in Medicine.  This lecture took place on March 30, 2016 in the Jordan Medical Education Center, Law Auditorium, 5th Floor of the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine.


The Center for Research on Reproduction and Women's Health (CRRWH) Annual Retreat Annual James M. Cuozzo Memorial Lecture

13th Annual Resident Research Day

Diamond delivered the John Rock Lecture entitled: "Postoperative Adhesions:  Pathogenesis, Prevalence, and Prevention ." Dr. Diamond is the Brooks Professor and Chair and Associate Dean for Research at the Medical College of Georgia and Senior Vice President for Research at Augusta University.


Awards & Honors

Dr. Daniel Lee received the 2016 Sharon Youcha Compassionate Patient Care Award for excellent patient care with compassion, empathy and respect, and listens and treats the patient as a whole person.

Dr. Sarah Kim received the 2016 John J. Mikuta Award for Professionalism in Women's Health.  This award recognizes an individual in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology who exemplifies a commitment to the highest standards of excellence in the practice of medicine, embraces the core values of integrity and respect for others, and is committed to the welfare of their patients and the health care needs of women.

Dr. Nawar Latif received the 2016 Fellow Teaching Award for Excellence in Resident Education.

Dr. Robert Dood received the 2016 Resident Research Award for Excellence in Research.

Dr. Alyssa Colwill received the 2016 Resident Teaching Award for Excellence in Resident Education.

Dr. Jamie Bastek received the 2016 Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education in obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Daniel Lee received the 2016 Golden Mitt Award.

Dr. Jennifer McCoyreceived the 2016 Midwife's Intern Award.

Dr. Daniel Leereceived the 2016 Robert R. Rascoe, MD Award for Excellence in Ambulatory Patient Care.  This award recognizes a chief resident who has demonstrated compassionate care and concern for our patients.  The recipient was selected by the attendings and nursing staff in the Helen O. Dickens Center for Women's Health. 

Drs. Alyssa Colwill and Charles Hummel are recipients of a 2016 Penn Pearls Award.  This award honors faculty and residents who excel in teaching on the clinical service and serve as role models and mentors for our students.

2016 Annual End of Year Dinner
