Education is a top priority at the University of Pennsylvania's Scheie Eye Institute/Department of Ophthalmology.

In addition to our highly regarded residency program, led by Nicholas J. Volpe, MD, Scheie offers fellowships in:

The Scheie Eye Institute also offers medical student courses and research opportunities, graduate and post-graduate training, ophthalmic technician training, as well as CME courses taught by Scheie faculty and visiting professors.
