Residency Application Process

Each year we accept five (5) first-year residents. The residency extends from July 1 through June 30 and is a 36-month program. Reappointment is made annually based on satisfactory performance.

Our program accepts applications only from the Central Application Service (CAS). Applications and/or supporting documents sent directly to Scheie Eye Institute will NOT be accepted.

Interviews

Invitations for personal interviews will be issued by telephone approximately one month in advance of the interview date.

Applicants invited for interviews may choose from the following dates:

            NOVEMBER 17, 2014

            NOVEMBER 25, 2014

            DECEMBER 3, 2014

 

 

Residency Selection
Scheie Eye Institute seeks to select those candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Superlative academic record
  • Demonstrated medical research interest
  • Desire to receive exceptional clinical training
  • Desire to engage in clinical research during residency
  • Superlative recommendation letters based on close personal observation
  • Highly motivated, team player
