Human Retina Teaching Set

Scheie Eye Institute established the Jeffrey W. Berger, M.D., Ph.D. Memorial Fund to honor Scheie faculty member, Dr. Jeffrey Berger who passed away in January 2001.  Dr. Ann Milam created a teaching set, “The Human Retina in Health and Disease,” to honor Dr. Berger and raise money for the Fund, which supports medical student research.

The teaching set, “The Human Retina in Health and Disease,” is a wonderful visual teaching tool of full color images of normal and AMD human retinas.  The set compares fundus photos to histopathological and immunofluorescence confocal microscope slides of cross sections of retinas at the same level of disease.

The set includes:

  • 31 glossy color photos
  • Complete figure descriptions
  • CD with all images for slide production

The donation is $125.00.  Proceeds from the sale of the teaching set will be contributed to the Jeffrey W. Berger, M.D., Ph.D. Memorial Fund.
