Interests:
Dr. Hebela’s clinical interests include surgery of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He has trained with leaders in the field of cervical and lumbar disk replacement surgery as well as other motion preserving technologies including flexible rod implants.
His research interest focuses on the biology of bone formation in the spine and extremities. He has done years of research on both rare and common metabolic bone diseases. He is most interested in the basic science of heterotopic ossification and the lessons that can be learned for more common conditions of bone healing and fusion.
