All residents are required to take the orthopaedic in-training examination (OITE) of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons starting at the PGY-2 level. No resident will be considered to have satisfactorily completed the training program until a passing score is obtained on the written examination.
Two residents, upon completion of the PGY-2 year, will spend one full academic year in the McKay Orthopaedic Laboratory pursuing basic science research.
The Faculty evaluates each resident’s performance at the end of each rotation. A written report is submitted to the Program Director who will review this bi-annually with each resident.
