Vision
Genetics is central to all health care services, because every illness and everyone's health is determined, at least in part, by genes.
Clinical Mission
The mission of the Division of Medical Genetics is to assist people in controlling their health by:
- identifying their genetic risks;
- providing information, advice and counseling about specific hereditary diseases and therapeutic options;
- supporting individual and family decisions regarding diagnosis and management of hereditary diseases or predisposition to disease; and
- educating the next generation of health care professionals to translate knowledge of genetics into routine healthcare.
