Other Clinical Services and Centers

The following centers—located elsewhere in the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) and in the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)—are coordinated by other divisions. Faculty of the Division of Medical Genetics may participate in providing these services:

• Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancer Risk Evaluation (see list of doctors & counselors)
  • Colorectal Cancer, Hereditary Nonpolyposis Colorectal Cancer, Familial Adenomatous Polyposis
  • Familial Pancreatic Cancer
• Breast/Ovarian Cancer Risk Evaluation Program (see list of doctors & counselors)
• Neurogenetics, e.g.,
  • Friedreich Ataxia
  • Frontotemporal Dementia

Also, Penn Ob/Gyn provides prenatal screening and genetic counseling for prospective parents, and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia provides diagnostic evaluations, follow-up and counseling for various conditions. Individuals having DNA diagnostic testing done here at Penn generally work through the Genetic Diagnostic Laboratory.
