    A revolutionary discovery at the University of Pennsylvania soon will allow healthcare workers to detect diseases while they are asymptomatic and can't be seen with the naked eye or detected by conventional tests. Using a swab of saliva or other body fluid and an innovation called "lab-on-a-chip," they will be able to predict in minutes silent diseases, ranging from cancer to the flu.
