Locate and highlight the file(s) you want to transfer. (Hold Shift key down to click more than one file). Then click the Get File... button. Unfortunately no Mac program can display Picker lightboxes, so don't bother getting any files starting with a capital L. The contents of lightboxes can be transferred using the xv program. For details see: xv conversion of Picker lightboxes to Mac-readable format
Once files are transferred to your Mac (when mouse cursor no longer becomes a running dog when moved into the Fetch window) you can close the connection by clicking the Close Connection button. Then you can exit Fetch.
If the file is a "native" Picker file
Picker file names consist of a capital letter followed by a number, e.g. R0, T4 or O6. For these files go to the right-most menu labelled NucMed and select Translate -> Picker Odyssey images... You'll be prompted for the location of the file on your Mac. Highlight the file then click the Open button. In the next window leave the maximum pixel value unchanged -- just click OK. If you have multiple views, e.g. Anterior and Posterior, the first one will be displayed. To move to the next image type Apple+. (that's a period) or under the Stacks menu select "Next Slice >". To move to the previous image type Apple+, (a comma) or under the Stacks menu select "Previous Slice <".
If the file is a TIFF file
TIFF files are usually indicated by the suffix .tif or .tiff. To view these files, go to the File menu and select Import... Make sure the TIFF radio button is selected then click Open.
