The Penn Radiology Residency Program strives to develop the next generation of leaders in the field of Radiology and strongly believes that resident involvement at all levels of leadership serves to establish robust collaborative relationships across disciplines, strengthening both the hospital and the radiology department's ability to provide high-quality patient care. Residents are given academic time to attend leadership workshops at the Penn Medicine Academy. Each year, both junior and senior residents attend the American College of Radiology's Conference Resident and Fellow Section where they participate in a variety of activities designed to promote advocacy in radiology, develop leadership skills and provide career guidance critical to the cultivation of successful future leaders in the field of radiology. The residency program actively encourages residents and fellows to participate in local, state and national radiologic leadership opportunities including the Philadelphia Roentgen Ray Society, the Pennsylvania Radiological Society, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Board of Radiology, the American College of Radiology and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, among others.
