Scheduled Test: GASTRIC EMPTY

| Where: | Nuclear Medicine, 3rd floor Donner Building |
| Purpose: | To evaluate stomach emptying rate. |
| Contraindications: | Sulfa allergy |
| Preparation: | Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before your exam.

| What to Expect: | You will be fed a meal consisting of three egg whites; a very small amount of a Radioactive material will be mixed into these eggs. You will also receive a slice of toast and a small glass of water. Immediately after you finish eating the meal, we will take two 1-minute images of your stomach. We will then take images of the stomach every 15 minutes for a total of two hours. |
| After Care: | You may resume your normal lifestyle.
