Muskuloskeletal Imaging

Musculoskeletal Imaging

The Musculoskeletal Radiology Division is staffed by musculoskeletal disease specialists whose areas of interest include bone and joint imaging, spinal imaging, metabolic bone disease and osteoporosis. Imaging techniques include computerized tomography (CT) and MRI. The division also handles all aspects of plain film studies related to the Emergency Room and Trauma areas.

These radiologists perform approximately 40 MRI examinations per day (including spines) and nearly 150 plain films including CTs, bone biopsies, MR arthrograms, and musculoskeletal ultrasound. The recent opening of the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine will likely further increase the volume of studies performed and it is anticipated the division will expand its services to also cover Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
