Education Committee
The Departments Education Committee is chaired
by the Vice Chair for
Education. The Committee presently consists of
the Program Director,
Associate Program Director, selected teaching
faculty, chief resident, one
additional resident, and one fellow. It also includes
participants from each site where residency training
occurs. The Committee meets monthly.
The purpose of the Committee is to:
- Work closely with Departmental administration
on all educational
concerns
- Make recommendations to the full faculty concerning
educational
issues, policies and procedures
- Plan and conduct faculty educational planning
retreats
- Investigate new educational methods for potential
application
within the Departments programs
- Regularly review all accreditation requirements
for residency
training and ensure compliance with those requirements
- Regularly review the educational progress
of all students involved
in various training experiences, with special
attention to remediation as
needed
- Consider and approve resident elective experiences
- Provide a forum for resident physician issues
and concerns
The Committee also considers issues pertaining
to the educational mission of the health system
as requested, and consults with other participating
institutions on projects of mutual concern.
